Mosaic Homeschool Co-Op

Welcome to Mosaic!

A mosaic is a piece of art where many unique pieces come together to form something beautiful. We all come from different places and backgrounds, but we believe those differences help build our kids into the wonderful people they will become. Welcome to Mosaic Homeschool Co-Op, where we encourage weekly group learning and socialization to build our children up.

Frequently Asked Questions

When and where is Mosaic?

Mosaic Homeschool Co-Op is Tuesday mornings from September through May at Brownback’s United Church of Christ in Spring City, Pennsylvania. We also have optional field trips and meetups throughout the Pottstown-area all year.

Is Mosaic secular or religious?

Our co-op is a secular community that welcomes all families, regardless of faith, background, or belief. We value kindness, curiosity, and mutual respect, and we strive to create a learning environment where everyone feels included and supported.

Is this a drop off program?

Mosaic is not a drop off program. For the safety of our children, we require a minimum of one adult per family stay onsite for the duration of the co-op day.

Is Mosaic an "attend at will" co-op?

No, Mosaic is not an “attend at will” program. Consistent attendance is important for both students and the community as a whole. Regular participation helps maintain group connection, supports collaborative learning, and ensures that each member can contribute fully to the co-op experience.

What does "co-op" mean to Mosaic?

Mosaic is what we consider to be a “true cooperative”. Every family takes on a role and it’s only by working together that we can make Mosaic possible. Some roles are: teaching a class, being a classroom aid, event organization, nursery team member, etc. We ask that every member of Mosaic sign up to help with clean up throughout the year. There is a place for everyone to help build Mosaic into what it can be.

What does the day look like?

We have six classes, along with a nursery, for the 2026/27 school year, each named after a different art movement: Avant Wave (preschool), Fauvism Flash (KReady/K), Modern Spark (K/1), Baroque Surge (1/2), Medieval Forge (3/4), and Renaissance Rally (4/5).

Our day starts with “Bright Start”, a half an hour to warm up our bodies and minds and get ready for learning. Our students then split into their classes and have learning time from 10am – 11am. Learning time consists of about 10 – 15 minutes of instruction and seated learning followed by a group project or hands on activity. From 11am – 11:15am we have a built in snack and catch up time. We run optional clubs, ranging many subjects from chess to art to STEM, and social time from 11:15am – 12:00pm.

We dismiss all our students at noon, but welcome everyone to stay from 12pm to 1pm for optional lunch and hang out time.

We welcome younger siblings into the nursery from 10am to 12pm. If you have older siblings that would be at Mosaic during the day, please reach out to Kate to discuss the best option for your older child (acting as a volunteer or sitting quietly with their parent during class).

What clearances are needed?

All adults, even siblings over 18 years old, attending co-op are required to be background checked for the safety of our students. We need a copy of their Child Abuse Clearance and their State Police Background Check to allow them into co-op. If you have lived out of the state of Pennsylvania within the past 10 years, you must also complete the FBI Clearance and Fingerprinting. Please email the clearances to info@mosaichomeschooling.com.

How much does the year cost?

We know one of the big questions for most families is “how much will this cost”? The fee for joining Mosaic during the 2026/27 year is $150 per family (which includes two children). To cover the cost of supplies and insurance, there is a $20 fee for each additional child attending a class and/or $10 for each additional child in the nursery or older sibling attending. Families joining Mosaic during the school year will be prorated accordingly.

There is a $50 deposit upon acceptance of your application. If you are accepted into our program, you will receive an email confirmation from Mosaic and a PayPal invoice for the full fee owed (only the deposit is due to hold your spots).

Field trips have additional fees based on the activity and are completely optional. We will release information about field trips as they are finalized on our Discord Server and it will be up to each family whether or not to attend.

Some clubs may have an additional fee to cover the cost of supplies. This information will be available on our Discord during the club registration period.

When will information for the 2027/2028 school year be available?

We expect to release information for the 2027/28 school year in late-December/early-January. We plan to have classes for preschool through 6th grade, with a nursery, next school year!

My child is in 5th grade, will they have a class in Mosaic for the 2027/28 school year?

Yes! We’re planning on aging with our students! Our program will not just stop at 5th grade, it will continue with them until they graduate!

I just signed up for Mosaic, when will I be added to the private Discord Server?

Our switchover to the new year is June 1st! Any new members will be sent a link to join the Discord Server at that point! You can also join us for any playdates and fieldtrips at that point!

Can I join mid-school year?

Yes, Mosaic accepts rolling admissions as long as there’s a spot available! We do close applications in August, but you can email Kate at info@mosaichomeschooling.com to inquire about joining Mosaic anytime throughout the school year!

How can I contact Mosaic with questions?

You can email us at info@mosaichomeschooling.com

Do you sell merch?

Actually, we do! You can find our Merch Store at www.redbubble.com/people/mosaiccoop! We hope to add a bunch of fun, homeschool oriented products and, of course, logo shirts (our official field trip shirt is unavailable for purchase).

Founder and Organizer

Hello! My name is Kate, and my homeschooling journey started when my oldest was 3. I now homeschool all three of my children. We absolutely love homeschooling and the freedom to move at our own pace and to customize our teaching methods to each child.

But like every type of schooling, homeschool does have a downside. My kids longed for the socialization aspect that homeschool is often missing. I also recognized that the ability to work in groups with children their own age wasn’t something I could give them. The only way to give these crucial things to my children was to create a co-op. And thus, Mosaic was born!

Leadership Team

Mosaic is guided by a leadership team. These leaders work together to support our co-op’s day-to-day operations, nurture our shared vision, and keep communication flowing among families. Each member brings their own strengths and heart to the role, helping ensure Mosaic stays the warm, inclusive, and creative community we all value.

Our 2026 Leadership Team is: Alyssa Schneider, Jenna O’Connor, Meg Painter, and Ryann Clardy.
